Called on account of rain...

Ballard Band Family,

Today the band gods are not being very helpful.  Between orientation taking up every classroom, an elementary student basketball camp, and the monsoon that the weather man omitted - we have nowhere to rehearse, today.  I really hate missing out on progressing out marching show, but I'll never do anything at the detriment of the students' well being.  Sometime, you just have to punt. :)

The kids were supposed to contact their families to get a ride home.  I'm simply following up so that you know that it's "official".

Due to the monstrosity that the school has made freshman orientation, this year: We have an altered schedule for tomorrow, (Friday, August 7th).

GUARD AND PERCUSSION: Report as usual.  We'll maximize the time we have on the field and get some focused rehearsal in.  8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

WINDS: Due to having many new members out for orientation, tomorrow - we'll start on an adjusted schedule.  1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

I understand that it may be easier for families to drop off students at the normal time, so it's absolutely fine if that needs to happen.  I'll still be here at 6:15 AM blocking off the parking lot. :)

I'm sorry for the alteration from what was planned today, but I'm making sure that the kids are taken care of and that we are moving forward effectively.

Thank you for your understanding,

Jay Matheney
